“Montana Fabric” Series

With a palette knife and oil paint I depict majestic animals with Montana quilt patterns on canvas. I find the process of combining these two unlikely elements challenging, thrilling, and enlightening.

The quilt patterns frame the animals, making them come to life above. Geometric designs become a stage that the animals dance across.

The elements of western culture and captivating wildlife weave well into the tradition of quilting. These facets each represent threads that cross and fasten Montana.
